Labor Day Weekend

My best friend since high school, Steph, came down from Chicago over Labor Day weekend. While Matt was at work and Em was at school, we did the typical girl stuff (like shop!) that we NEVER get to do together and just had a great time catching up, just the two of us (Katie was there, but as we all know, she's not much of a conversationalist these days).

Em was spoiled all weekend by Aunt Stephie - and we cannot forget Uncle Mike, who was at home with the twin boys! - who brought her new Disney Princess sheets for her bed, bought her a HUGE ice cream cone and also got her a bunch of new earrings.

We went to Nick's to catch the first half of the Packers' final pre-season game (check out Em's latest and greatest: a pink Favre jersey courtesy of Daddy!)...


The best part was Friday night Matt stayed home - and actually encouraged us! - with the two girls so that Steph and I could have a much-needed girl's night out. We went out to dinner, drank wine, talked about how it had been YEARS (5 or 6?) since we had gone out just the two of us, and even closed down Starbucks.
