Well, Emma finished up kindergarten in June and is now officially onto first grade. I cannot believe it - it seems like just yesterday she was a mere baby taking her first steps. She's managed to lose three of her bottom baby teeth - and altho one lone top one is loose it has not yet come out - and is growing up like a weed.
On the last day of school they had a mini-award ceremony where the kids were given certificates for finishing K and for what they had accomplished that year, along with a fun class title. Em had completed all of her reading assignments every month, had completed her "homework" every month, had completed MathMasters and had perfect attendance (I know that wasn't accurate, as she she did miss her second day of school after coming down with a bad fever). Alas, she is now officially going to be in elementary school in August.
Here Em's beloved teacher (and a saint in our books!), Ms. Coppedge, presents Emma with her class award of "Most Dramatic." As even the teacher said, she expects to see Em on stage, TV or the movies someday.
