Emma was just awarded The Writer's Club for the best and/or most improved writing for the past nine weeks at her elementary school! She has developed quite a love for writing in addition to her constant reading, and her teachers always talk about how she has plenty to say in her writing assignments. We're so proud of you girl!
And maybe she takes after Mom more than we know...
In other news - Katie recently moved up to the next class at school and is now the youngest amongst the monsters of two-year-olds. The first week was horrendous and totally kicked her butt. Adjusting to the new routine, new teachers, new kids and much more structured curriculum (they even get homework some nights! What toddler gets HOMEWORK? Granted, it's coloring and fun stuff, but still?), and eating breakfast at the big kid table with no sippy cup is quite a lot for a toddler to take! Every night at dinner she was nearly falling asleep in her food (literally) and wanted to go to bed before eight. We're now in our third week and she's doing great now - she LOVES sitting at the big-kid table, and adores her teachers. I still stay and sit with her while she eats breakfast, and scoot out just before she's finished and heads into the classroom, just to be safe. I still can't believe she will two in a few months - where does the time go?
